What this tool does
The converter uses preprocessed original Light My Bricks 1.0 inventories and a checked snapshot of current Australian 2.0 products. It calculates individual component needs, subtracts parts you own, rounds to sale packs and generates a retailer cart link. It runs in your browser without AI calls or a subscription.
A component plan, not an installation manual
Every proposed conversion is a beta and has not been physically tested. Matching a parts list cannot prove a fit, sufficient cable reach, correct local wiring or a suitable electrical load. The original instructions remain essential. Use the concordance and each set’s notes to plan the changes.
Check these before buying
- Confirm every light’s colour, brightness, effect, size and lead length.
- Find new attachment points for Docks, Meteors and FX controllers. 2.0 housings are not the same shape as 1.0 adhesive boards and strips.
- Count Astro and Belt connections separately. A string uses one light connection, even when it has many LEDs.
- Measure each cable path and leave clearance at hinges, removable roofs and moving parts. Never pinch or force a cable between bricks.
- Keep intended effect groups separate from steady lights. FX Spectrum modes do not guarantee identical 1.0 timing.
- Provide the extra LEGO pieces and compatible power supply yourself. Follow the manufacturer’s power specifications and current instructions.
- Check the populated merchant cart line by line, including packs, stock, price and any substitutions.
Standard and suggested redesign
Standard is selected when a build opens. It aims to retain the original light locations and effects, while changing connectors and mounting for 2.0. Where a separately researched redesign is available, choose its beta option to see a revised cart, concordance and instruction-change section. Changing modes resets both acknowledgements. The Fire Station is the only step-by-step instruction trial in this release, and covers standard mode.
What the checkbox means
Each set requires you to acknowledge the beta and your responsibility to check its conversion and instruction modifications. The acknowledgements reset when you change owned quantities or reopen the page. They do not turn an untested proposal into a verified installation.
Official boxed kits come first
Sets identified with an official 2.0 lighting kit or manufacturer 2.0 DIY guide are excluded from this converter archive, including their legacy conversion plans. A stock snapshot can become outdated; check the retailer’s page for availability, preorder status and what is included.
Power and moving models
Most proposals change to USB power using a Flux Belt. The USB adapter or power bank is separate. Do not join multiple powered outputs. Train and vehicle conversions may be for stationary display only; follow the set-specific notes before operating a model.
