CHOOSE YOUR CONVERSION.

Standard preserves the original lighting arrangement as closely as current parts allow. The optional redesign changes the layout or effect using newer components. Both are untested beta plans.

THIS BUILD.
THE IMPORTANT DETAILS.

  • Standard retains the original lighting positions, colours and nine individually flashing tree lights. It is a like-for-like lighting intent, not a drop-in physical replacement.
  • The blue Meteor remains an edge-mounted rink fixture. It is substantially thicker than the adhesive strip. Find a suitable 1×6 attachment, check the light direction and clear the skating surface before purchase; extra LEGO brackets are not specified or included.
  • Meteors accept Belt connectors only. The alarm Astro must connect to Dock 9 instead of plugging into the entrance strip as it did in 1.0. Check the 15 cm alarm lead reaches the chosen Dock position; reposition the dock or revise the lead before buying if it does not.
  • Original tree step 14 refers to nine leads but then describes five plus three. This plan deliberately connects all nine: five to one Dock 6 and four to the other.
  • The proposed graph uses ten ordinary Belts plus one Flux Belt. Astro socket counts and Belt socket counts have been checked separately; this is not proof of cable reach, mounting clearance or load validation.
  • Do not follow the old wire-twisting instructions with 2.0 flat flex cables. Lay them flat, keep them free of stud pinch points and do not force bricks or connectors.
  • All LEGO pieces, any additional mounting bricks and the USB power supply are separate. Physical installation and final electrical load have not been tested.

Connection counts are a planning check. They do not verify local grouping, cable reach, power draw or physical fit. Astro ports and Belt sockets are different connections.

Location / DockAstro ports usedLights
Main building · Dock 94 / 92 lamppost + 1 left wall lamp + 1 flashing alarm
Fire truck · Dock 64 / 62 headlights + 2 tail lights
Tower · Dock 64 / 6Right wall lamp + tower roof + 2 upper window lights
Christmas tree A · Dock 65 / 6Five individual flashing tree lights

Proposed routing

  1. USB supply → Flux Belt 60 cm → Split Dock A.
  2. Split A → main Dock 9 (5 cm), tree Dock 6 A (50 cm) and Split Dock B (30 cm).
  3. Main Dock 9 → blue rink Meteor (50 cm). Tree Dock 6 A → tree Dock 6 B (5 cm).
  4. Split B → upper-floor Meteor (15 cm), truck Dock 6 (50 cm) and ground-floor Meteor (15 cm).
  5. Ground-floor Meteor → entrance Meteor (15 cm). Upper-floor Meteor → tower Dock 6 (50 cm).

THE CONCORDANCE

EVERY CHANGE.
IN PLAIN SIGHT.

Quantities below are individual components. The shopping list combines shared packs, then rounds up once.

Original 1.0 itemProposed 2.0 replacementWhat to check
9 × White 15 cm Bit Lights9 × White Astro Regular 15 cmFour truck lights, two wall lamps, one tower roof light and two window lights. Individual fittings require a dry fit.
2 × White 30 cm Bit Lights2 × White Astro Regular 30 cmThe two lamppost lights retain their original colour and lead length.
10 × Flashing White 15 cm Bit Lights10 × Flashing White Astro Regular 15 cmNine independent tree lights plus the alarm. Preserves flashing; the alarm now connects to Dock 9, not to a Meteor.
3 × White Strip Lights3 × White MeteorsOne fixture at each original strip location. Each Meteor has two LEDs and occupies a 1×6 footprint; two LEDs do not replace two separate strip locations.
1 × Blue Strip Light1 × Blue MeteorKeeps an edge-mounted blue rink fixture. The 48×8×6.4 mm housing needs a new 1×6 attachment; no exact bracket geometry has been validated.
4 × 6-port expansion boards4 × Dock 6One for the truck, one for the tower and two for the nine individual tree lights. Each has six Astro sockets plus two separate Belt sockets.
1 × 8-port expansion board1 × Dock 9Main building and lampposts use four of nine Astro sockets. The blue Meteor uses a Belt connection, not an Astro socket.
New 2.0 distribution requirement2 × Split DockEach provides four Belt sockets; one input and three outgoing branches in this plan.
1 × 5 cm connecting cable2 × Belt 5 cmOne links Split A to the main Dock 9; the other links the two tree docks. Added quantity follows the new separated Astro/Belt topology.
3 × 15 cm connecting cables3 × Belt 15 cmSplit B to the ground-floor and upper-floor Meteors; ground-floor Meteor to entrance Meteor.
1 × 30 cm connecting cable1 × Belt 30 cmLinks Split A and Split B.
3 × 50 cm connecting cables4 × Belt 50 cmTree, truck, rink and upper-tower connections. One extra long Belt is required by this proposed 2.0 topology.
1 × AA battery pack1 × Flux Belt 60 cmUSB power conversion. The separately supplied USB source must meet Light My Bricks current 5V/2.4A specification.
8 × adhesive squaresMatching included Tethers and revised attachment pointsDock, Split Dock and standard Meteor packages include matching Tethers. Their 6.4 mm housings need clearance. Additional LEGO mounting pieces may be necessary.
